Kyiv Region Under Attack: Consequences of the Russian Assault on April 3

On the morning of April 3, 2023, the Kyiv region became a target of a combined Russian attack, which involved massive strikes from kamikaze drones known as Shaheds. This assault resulted in significant destruction and human casualties, further underscoring Russia's aggression.

On the morning of April 3, 2023, the Kyiv region was subjected to a coordinated Russian attack, characterized by a barrage of strikes from kamikaze drones, commonly referred to as Shaheds. This latest offensive has led to considerable devastation and tragic loss of life, marking yet another chapter in the ongoing conflict and highlighting the persistent threat posed by Russian military actions.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) showcased the aftermath of the Russian strikes in the Obukhiv, Bucha, and Fastiv districts of Kyiv region. According to Mykola Kalashnyk, the head of the Kyiv regional military administration, one man was killed, and eight others sustained injuries, including a child, as a result of the bombardment.

In the three districts affected, damage was reported to private homes, multi-story residential buildings, vehicles, administrative structures, and other infrastructure. Notably, in the Bucha district, one individual lost their life. Emergency responders swiftly extinguished a vehicle fire that resulted from the attack. Additionally, in the village of Kriukivshchyna, the roof of a five-story residential building was damaged.

The Bucha district also encompasses the city of Vyshneve, where, according to BBC Ukraine, a drone crashed in the yard of a local school on the morning of April 3. This incident has raised alarm among local residents and parents, as such attacks jeopardize the safety of children.

In the Fastiv district, fires erupted at a veterinary clinic reportedly located in the village of Chabany. Nearby, a private residential home and vehicles were also damaged. As a result of these events, one person was injured.

The Obukhiv district reported a strike on a residential multi-story building; fortunately, there were no casualties. This attack serves as yet another confirmation that civilian targets in Ukraine continue to be subjected to Russian military strikes.
