In Ukraine, a significant initiative is underway to bolster independent journalism in regions affected by war. The project, titled 'Critical Infrastructure,' was launched by 'Ukrainska Pravda' in collaboration with DTEK and the Damirli brand. This collaboration aims to unite people around the crucial cause of supporting media in frontline areas, which face numerous challenges.

As of early February 2026, the 'Critical Infrastructure' initiative has already gathered 25 businesses willing to contribute to this important cause. Within the framework of the project, charitable hoodies and t-shirts have been designed and produced by the talented Ukrainian designer Elvira Hasanova. During the ongoing campaign, over 1,000 units of merchandise have been sold, with all profits directed towards supporting media in five regions of Ukraine.

Among the media outlets that will receive support through this initiative are 'Kordon.Media' from Sumy, 'Gvari' from Kharkiv, 'Dnipro.media' from Dnipro, 'MykVisti' from Mykolaiv, and 'MOST' from Kherson. These editorial teams continue to operate under constant threat and resource scarcity to ensure their communities are not left without vital information.

The editor-in-chief of 'Ukrainska Pravda,' Sevgi Musaieva, emphasized the importance of regional media, stating, 'Without truth, the state loses its foundation—just as cities without basic infrastructure lose their ability to function. Today, regional media continue to work under constant danger and lack of resources to keep their communities from being in informational darkness. That is why we support these editorial teams—those who connect people with reality every day.'

The 'Critical Infrastructure' initiative aims not only to provide financial support to the media but also to raise public awareness about the importance of independent journalism in wartime conditions. More details about this initiative can be found on the new project page on the 'Ukrainska Pravda' website.
