Russian Strike Coordinator Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Assisting Enemy Forces
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced that a local resident, recruited by Russian intelligence, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in coordinating enemy strikes against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Izyum direction.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has reported a significant development in the ongoing conflict with Russia, revealing that a local resident, who was recruited by Russian special services, has been sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for his activities that involved adjusting enemy strikes on the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Izyum direction. According to the investigation, the primary targets of the Russian military included the bases and movement routes of the Third Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The investigation uncovered that the convicted individual, who worked as a laborer, independently contacted an administrator of a Telegram channel created by Russian intelligence to gather information about the locations of Ukrainian troops. This channel became a crucial tool for the enemy, as it allowed them to obtain real-time data on the movement and concentration of Ukrainian forces.
According to the case materials, the traitor actively scoured the area, marking on Google Maps the geolocations of where personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were located. His actions were aimed at providing the Russian military with precise coordinates of objects that he believed could be used by Ukrainian forces as storage and repair bases.
The gathered data was transmitted to the Russians via messenger, where he sent screenshots of electronic maps with marked targets, as well as photo and video documentation of these objects. These actions undoubtedly posed a threat to Ukrainian military personnel, as they allowed the enemy to plan and execute attacks on strategic positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The perpetrator was apprehended in September 2025 in the Kharkiv region. During a search, a smartphone was seized from him, containing evidence of his reconnaissance activities and contacts with Russian intelligence. This material formed the basis for the charges brought against him.
The court found the agent guilty under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which stipulates responsibility for treason committed under martial law. The court's verdict, which imposed a 15-year prison sentence, represents a significant step in the fight against traitors who collaborate with the enemy during this challenging time for the country.
This case is not an isolated incident. As reported by Ukrinform, a resident of Rivne Oblast, who also directed enemy missiles at Ukrainian airfields, was sentenced to eight years in prison. These events underscore the necessity for heightened attention to internal security and the detection of traitors who may threaten Ukraine's national security.
