Royal Cup of Betking Foundation & Goleador: Pavel Zhuryla's Charity Fund Promotes Children's Football in Ukraine
The development of children's football in Ukraine has evolved beyond a mere sporting issue, becoming a crucial element in supporting children and their social adaptation. The nationwide children's football tournament 'Royal Cup of Betking Foundation & Goleador', organized by the Betking Foundation and held in Kyiv, exemplifies how systematic charity can create real opportunities for hundreds of children even during challenging times, such as war.
Today, the development of children's football in Ukraine is no longer just a sporting issue; it has transformed into an essential element of support for children and their social adaptation. The nationwide children's football tournament 'Royal Cup of Betking Foundation & Goleador', organized by the Betking Foundation and held in Kyiv, stands as a vivid example of how systematic charity can create real opportunities for hundreds of children even in difficult times, such as war.
The project was implemented under the leadership of the foundation's founder, Pavel Zhuryla, in collaboration with renowned sports blogger, influencer, and footballer Ivan Goleador. The tournament brought together 48 teams and 672 young footballers born in 2018-2019 from various corners of Ukraine, showcasing a broad outreach and interest in the development of children's football.
A key principle that Pavel Zhuryla and the Betking Foundation team advocate is the accessibility of sports for every child. This is why participation in the tournament was entirely free—without entry fees or financial barriers. Such an approach allows children from various social groups, including those from socially vulnerable categories, to engage in sports. For a significant portion of participants, the 'Royal Cup of Betking Foundation & Goleador' served as the first step into the world of football and an opportunity to believe in their own abilities.
The tournament, which has become one of the largest children's football events in Ukraine within its age category, demonstrated a high level of team preparation and competitive spirit. In the U-7 category, gold was claimed by Kyiv's 'Lviv Bereg', who triumphed in a tense final against 'Licey Rodnykivka' from Cherkasy with a score of 3:1. The bronze medals were awarded to the UCSA team from Tarasivka. The U-8 stage was no less dramatic, where the fate of the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout: the capital's 'Profic' defeated 'Wolves' with a score of 3:2. The bronze medals were won by 'Lokomotiv' from Kyiv.
However, the main outcomes of the project are measured not only by the score on the scoreboard but also by the depth of social impact. For Betking Foundation, which is part of King Group, the tournament is one of the stages in a long-term strategy to support children and develop children's sports. Founded by Pavel Zhuryla, the foundation consistently develops initiatives aimed at supporting children from vulnerable categories, using sports as a tool for socialization and development.
In a situation where access to quality training and competitions is often limited, such projects open new opportunities for children and restore faith in their own abilities. Betking Foundation's initiatives demonstrate that the combination of charity, sports, and a systematic approach can be an effective tool for supporting children. In this context, sports become not just a game but a language of unity, development, and faith in the future of Ukraine.
The Betking Foundation, established by Pavel Zhuryla and part of King Group, transforms social initiatives into real opportunities for children and youth. The foundation pays special attention to displaced children and those who have lost loved ones due to the war, helping them through sports, education, and psychological support. Betking Foundation invests resources in creating a healthy and safe environment for children, helping them develop team spirit, acquire new knowledge, and restore emotional balance. The social mission of the foundation is to create opportunities for the harmonious development and social adaptation of the younger generation.
