SCM Companies of Akhmetov Increase Capital Investments by 57.9% and Tax Payments by 26% in 2025

In a remarkable financial turnaround, the investment group SCM, owned by prominent businessman Rinat Akhmetov, reported a staggering increase in capital investments and tax contributions for the year 2025.

Capital investments by Ukrainian, associated, and joint enterprises of the investment group SCM reached an impressive total of nearly 60 billion UAH (approximately $1.4 billion) in 2025. This figure represents a significant 57.9% increase over the previous year's investments, which amounted to 38 billion UAH. The information was disclosed in a press release from the group published on Monday.

According to the data provided by SCM, a substantial portion of the capital investments was directed towards the restoration of infrastructure that was destroyed due to Russian aggression, as well as ensuring the security of key enterprises. The companies within the group actively invested in modernizing production facilities, enhancing energy security, and developing a logistics network in Ukraine, all of which are crucial aspects for the recovery of the country's economy.

It is noteworthy that over the four years since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Akhmetov's companies have invested approximately $4 billion, equivalent to over 150.5 billion UAH at the average exchange rate. Of this amount, $1 billion was allocated specifically for the urgent restoration of infrastructure facilities that were damaged as a result of Russian shelling and massive airstrikes.

Additionally, SCM reported that in 2025, it paid nearly 94 billion UAH (or $2.2 billion) in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels. This marks a 26% increase compared to 2024, when tax payments totaled 74.6 billion UAH. Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, SCM companies have contributed over 308 billion UAH in taxes, which is equivalent to more than $8 billion.

Regarding social programs, SCM allocated 13.2 billion UAH (or $0.3 billion) to these initiatives in 2025, representing a 6.5% increase from 2024, when expenses were 12.4 billion UAH. The largest expenditures were directed towards programs for residents in regions where the companies operate, as well as environmental protection, which is a vital aspect of sustainable development.

Moreover, it is important to highlight that SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, and the Shakhtar Donetsk football club continue to actively support Ukraine and its citizens. Over the four years of the full-scale war, more than 13.5 billion UAH (approximately $368 million) has been allocated to assist military personnel and civilians, marking a significant contribution to supporting the country during these challenging times. In comparison, this figure was 11.3 billion UAH the previous year.
