Klitschko: Kyiv Introduces 20 New Anadolu Isuzu Buses to Routes

Kyiv has welcomed 20 new modern buses from the Anadolu Isuzu Citiport 12 series, as announced by Mayor Vitali Klitschko. This addition is part of a financial agreement with the European Investment Bank aimed at enhancing public transport quality.

On the streets of Kyiv, 20 new modern buses of the Anadolu Isuzu Citiport 12 model have been introduced, as reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko. This expansion was made possible through a financial agreement with the European Investment Bank, under which the capital has acquired new transport to improve the quality of public transportation.

“Another 20 new modern buses have hit the capital's routes, which Kyiv purchased from Turkey as part of a financial agreement with the European Investment Bank. In total, there are now 80 such buses operating in the city. According to the agreement with the EIB, their total number will reach 85, and five more buses will arrive in Kyiv in the coming days,” Klitschko stated in his message.

The new buses are 12 meters long and feature a low-floor design, making them accessible for people with disabilities and those with limited mobility. Each bus is equipped with a ramp, allowing for easy access to the vehicle.

“These buses are outfitted with information displays, air conditioning and heating systems, surveillance cameras, and a stop announcement system. They feature energy-efficient LED lighting and tinted windows. The seating capacity is 27 passengers, with space for 80 standing passengers,” the capital's mayor added in his Telegram channel.

It is important to note that the new 20 buses will partially replace the older rolling stock currently in operation on several routes, including numbers 2, 20, 25, 35, 42, 43k, 46, 50, 55, 69, 72, 112, and 115. This upgrade is part of the city government’s strategy to improve public transport in Kyiv, aimed at providing comfortable and safe conditions for all passengers.

The Kyiv City Administration is actively working on modernizing public transport, which includes not only the procurement of new buses but also the upgrading of trolleybuses and trams. This process is a significant step towards environmental sustainability and improving the quality of life for the capital's residents.

According to the city authorities' plans, further updates to the transport fleet are expected in the near future, which will help reduce the burden on infrastructure and improve the environmental situation in the city. Vitali Klitschko emphasized that the new buses represent not only convenience for passengers but also an important step towards the modernization and development of urban transport.
