Several Gulf Countries Report Attacks from Iran Despite Ceasefire Declaration

On Wednesday, October 25, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported active attacks from Iran, including missile and drone strikes, raising concerns among Gulf nations despite a declared ceasefire.

On Wednesday, October 25, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it was facing active attacks from Iran, which included missile and drone strikes. According to a report by Al Jazeera, the UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that their air defense systems were 'actively intercepting' missiles and drones launched from Iranian territory. These developments come in the context of a declared ceasefire, which has raised alarms among countries in the Gulf region.

The press service of Abu Dhabi stated that the sounds of explosions heard in various parts of the country were caused by the interception of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Notably, these attacks resulted in a fire at the Habshan gas complex in Abu Dhabi, leading to a temporary shutdown of its operations. As a result of the incident, two UAE nationals and one Indian citizen were injured.

Kuwait also confirmed that its air defense systems intercepted Iranian drones launched in the morning. The Kuwaiti army reported that some of these drones attempted to target critical oil facilities, power plants, and desalination plants, causing significant damage to the country's infrastructure. According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, a total of 28 drones were shot down, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

Iranian state television confirmed the reports of missile and drone attacks, stating that they were conducted in response to the bombing of Iranian oil facilities that occurred on Wednesday. Specifically, there were reports of an attack on an oil refinery on Lavan Island, where firefighters were working to contain the blaze. The report indicated that no one was injured as a result of this attack.

Additionally, the Mehr news agency reported explosions that were recorded on the Iranian island of Sirri, further indicating an escalation of the conflict in the region. These events occur against a backdrop of heightened tensions between Iran and its neighbors, driven not only by military actions but also by political strife.

As reported by Ukrinform, despite the declared ceasefire, Iran conducted drone attacks on Bahrain, which caused explosions near the capital city on Wednesday morning. These incidents underscore the complexity of the situation in the region and the threats that exist to the security of Gulf countries.

In light of these events, it is crucial to monitor the developments and reactions from the international community, as the escalation of conflict could have serious implications not only for the countries in the region but also for global security.
