1.3 Million Ukrainians Benefit from Fuel Cashback Program, Says Svyrydenko
The 'Fuel Cashback' program in Ukraine has gained significant popularity, with 1.3 million citizens taking advantage of the compensation for fuel purchases, according to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
In Ukraine, the 'Fuel Cashback' program has rapidly become a favored initiative among the population, as evidenced by the information provided by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. She announced that 1.3 million citizens have utilized the opportunity to receive compensation for fuel purchases, marking an important step in supporting Ukrainians amid rising fuel prices.
According to Svyrydenko, participants in the program can receive compensation of 15% for diesel fuel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. This allows Ukrainians to save from 2 hryvnias per liter on autogas and from 11 hryvnias per liter on diesel fuel. Overall, participants can receive up to 1,000 hryvnias in cashback per month, providing significant financial support for many families.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted that the compensation received can be used not only for refueling vehicles but also for paying utility bills, purchasing medications, buying locally produced goods, books, or even making charitable contributions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This underscores the program's importance not only for economic support but also for fostering social responsibility among citizens.
Svyrydenko also reported that the 'National Cashback' program, under which the fuel cashback initiative is implemented, has already reached 4.4 million Ukrainians. Since the program's launch, over 200,000 new 'National Cashback' accounts have been opened, indicating the population's interest in this initiative.
It is worth noting that the fuel cashback program was introduced from March 20 to May 1 of this year. It allows Ukrainians to receive compensation ranging from 5% to 15% of the cost of fuel purchased at participating gas stations. To date, more than 150 gas station networks have joined the program, including both large chains and local stations.
The introduction of this program was a response to the rising fuel prices that began in Ukraine in March. The government aims to support the population amid economic difficulties, and the 'Fuel Cashback' program is one of the measures designed to alleviate the financial burden on citizens.
