Head of the President's Office Budanov Holds First Meeting of the Council for Entrepreneurship Support

Kyrylo Budanov, recently appointed as the head of the Council for Entrepreneurship Support by President Zelensky, conducted the inaugural meeting of this significant council, addressing critical issues concerning the development of Ukraine's economy and energy infrastructure.

Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, recently appointed by President Volodymyr Zelensky to lead the Council for Entrepreneurship Support, held the first meeting of this important body. This meeting marked a pivotal moment for entrepreneurs and businesses in Ukraine, as key issues related to the development of the country's economy and energy infrastructure were discussed.

According to information published by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel, one of the main agenda items was the involvement of businesses in creating a new architecture for the energy system. This system is expected to be more secure, flexible, market-oriented, and integrated with European standards. Shmyhal emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and entrepreneurs, noting that the government has updated the competition rules for the construction of new electricity generation facilities, and a competition aimed at adding approximately 1.3 GW to the energy system will be announced soon.

"I want to thank entrepreneurs for their responsibility in these challenging times. We are counting on fruitful cooperation to build a new Ukrainian energy system," said Denys Shmyhal, highlighting the significance of joint efforts to improve the energy situation in the country.

The council meeting also included key figures from the Ukrainian government, such as Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, National Bank Chairman Andriy Pyshny, as well as First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhiy Kyslytsia and his deputies Oleg Tatarov, Pavlo Palisa, and Iryna Vereshchuk.

It is noteworthy that the composition of the updated Council for Entrepreneurship Support, approved by the presidential decree on June 27, 2025, has significantly expanded to 82 members, compared to the previous council's 7 members. In October of last year, following Yuliya Svyrydenko's appointment as Prime Minister, a new deputy head was introduced to the council—Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev.

Additionally, by presidential decree on March 25 of this year, Kyrylo Budanov was appointed as the head of the council, and two more deputies from the Office of the President were included in the council—Iryna Mudra, who became the deputy head of the council, and Viktor Mykyta. The council's secretary, replacing Yuriy Katsyona, who took over Oschadbank, is now Larysa Yaremchuk, the first deputy general director of the directorate for socio-economic policy of the Office of the President.

Regarding business representatives, their composition has remained virtually unchanged, but a new member of the council is Pavlo Razdobarov, the deputy director of LLC "Sewing Company 'VID'". Andriy Vadatursky, the owner and general director of the joint venture "Nibulon", has also joined the council, replacing Mykhailo Rizak, who previously handled interactions with government authorities.

Another significant change was the update of the business ombudsman: instead of Roman Vashchuk, Anka Feldguzen became a member of the council. Following the formation of the new Council for Entrepreneurship Support, its members plan to work in industry groups, with 11 groups anticipated to be created, allowing for more effective resolution of issues concerning the business environment in Ukraine.
