Government Increases Statutory Capital of Energy Efficiency Fund by ₴629.6 Million

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a pivotal decision to increase the statutory capital of the state institution 'Energy Efficiency Fund' by a sum of ₴629 million 652 thousand. This announcement was made by Taras Melnychuk, the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, via his Telegram channel, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to the information provided, the new funds will be sourced from the financing outlined in the Law of Ukraine 'On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026'. This decision is part of a broader governmental strategy aimed at improving energy efficiency across Ukraine, which is critically important given the current challenges and the pressing need for a transition to more sustainable energy development.

Furthermore, the government has also amended the statute of the Fund, incorporating measures related to the use of renewable energy sources. This is a significant step towards fulfilling the commitments made by Ukraine under international agreements concerning energy policy and environmental safety.

It is noteworthy that in 2025, the Energy Efficiency Fund implemented approximately 1,500 projects within three programs supported by the European Union. This statistic underscores the active role of the Fund and its importance in advancing energy initiatives throughout Ukraine.

With the new funding, the Fund will be able to expand its capabilities and execute even more projects that will contribute to enhancing energy efficiency across all sectors of the economy.
