Ukrainian Cabinet Lifts Three-Year Experience Requirement for Agricultural Machinery Permits – Syvyrydenko

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a crucial decision that will significantly simplify the process of obtaining a permit for operating agricultural machinery. Prime Minister Yulia Syvyrydenko announced that the government has abolished the requirement for a three-year driving experience for individuals wishing to operate agricultural machinery.

In her statement on the social media platform Telegram, Syvyrydenko noted: "The government has removed the requirement for a three-year experience for obtaining a permit to operate agricultural machinery... Drivers who hold licenses for operating trucks, buses, and minibuses (categories C1, C, D1, D), even with less than three years of experience, are now allowed to operate certain types of agricultural machinery without obtaining a tractor operator's license." She clarified that this applies to machinery in categories A1, A2, B1, B2, and B3, which includes tractors, self-propelled grain and corn harvesting machines, as well as self-propelled machines for harvesting root crops, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, and berries.

The Prime Minister explained that this decision became necessary due to the fact that many tractor operators are currently fulfilling their military duty, defending the country within the ranks of the Defense Forces. This has led to a noticeable shortage of personnel in the agricultural sector, which, in turn, negatively impacts agricultural production.

According to expert assessments, simplifying the conditions for obtaining permits to operate agricultural machinery will help attract additional workers to this sector, especially during peak field work periods such as planting and harvesting. This is undoubtedly an important step towards ensuring the country's food security, as the agricultural sector is one of the key elements of Ukraine's economy.
