On April 24, 2026, the city of Ivano-Frankivsk will transform into a vital communication hub for journalists and media experts from all over Ukraine. The King Daniel University is set to host the first-ever 'UCD MEDIAFORUM', which aims to unite more than 200 professionals and academics in the field. The primary objective of this event is to facilitate a professional discussion on the evolving media landscape and the challenges it will face in the future.
The forum will feature a lineup of prominent speakers, including leading Ukrainian journalists, media founders, editors, and media experts. Confirmed participants include publicist and military journalist Pavlo Kazarin, war journalist Natalia Nahorna, journalist and editor Sonya Koshkina, television and radio presenter Roman Kolyada, and journalist and media expert Otar Dovzhenko.
The theme of the event will be 'How to Communicate Trust, Interaction, and Responsibility'. Forum participants will engage in several panel discussions focusing on the relationship between people and media in wartime conditions. One of the key topics will be the future of video content, as well as whether television can maintain its niche or will need to completely pivot to online formats.
Special attention will also be given to the cultural sector and its role in shaping resistance and identity. Participants will analyze the role of local media, as well as the prospects and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in journalism.
