Interpipe Acquires ArcelorMittal's AMTP Plant in Romania

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has announced the completion of its acquisition of the ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) plant located in Roman, Romania, effective March 31, 2026.

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has officially confirmed the successful acquisition of the ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) plant situated in Roman, Romania, with the transaction set to take effect on March 31, 2026. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Interpipe's ongoing efforts to expand its presence in Europe and strengthen its position in key regional markets.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the AMTP Roman plant is recognized as a leading manufacturer of seamless steel pipes, catering to customers across Europe and beyond. The acquisition is expected to deliver numerous advantages to both the customers of Interpipe and the Romanian facility. Notably, the purchase enhances Interpipe's local manufacturing capabilities within the European Union, thereby bolstering its supply chain resilience. Customers will benefit from a more diversified and reliable supply network as a result of this acquisition.

Additionally, the press release emphasizes the operational synergy anticipated from this acquisition. The integration of Interpipe's technological expertise and vertically integrated steel production with the established operations of the Romanian plant is expected to enhance efficiency, optimize production processes, and improve overall product quality.

The acquisition also aims to strengthen customer relationships. Clients of the Roman plant can expect continuity of service, backed by additional support from Interpipe's global network, technical expertise, and a customer-oriented approach. The press service confirmed that all standard conditions for the closure of the deal have been met, including obtaining the necessary antitrust approvals and direct foreign investment permits from Ukrainian and Romanian governmental authorities.

Founded in 1951, the Roman plant is a major Romanian producer of seamless steel pipes with diameters ranging from 168.3 mm to 406.4 mm. It supplies products for consumers in various sectors, including energy, construction, and industry, catering to pipeline projects in both onshore and offshore applications. The plant also traditionally manufactures casing pipes for oil and gas extraction.

Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company that specializes in the production of steel pipes and railway products. Its products are supplied to over 50 countries worldwide through a network of trading offices located in key markets across the Middle East, North America, and Europe. In 2024, the company contributed 5.5 billion UAH to budgets at all levels.

The company comprises five industrial assets: Interpipe Dniprovskiy Tube Rolling Plant (NTP), Interpipe Novomoskovsk Tube Plant (NMTZ), Interpipe Niko-Tube, Dnipropetrovsk Vtormet, and the electric steelmaking complex Dniprostal under the brand Interpipe Steel.

Interpipe employs approximately 9,500 individuals. The ultimate owner of Interpipe Limited is Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Viktor Pinchuk, along with members of his family.
