Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi Discusses Military Situation with NATO General Alexus Grinkevich
In a significant phone conversation, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke with NATO's Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, General Alexus Grinkevich, regarding the ongoing military situation in Ukraine, particularly in active combat zones.
Recently, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, engaged in a crucial telephone conversation with General Alexus Grinkevich, the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO in Europe and Commander of U.S. Armed Forces in Europe. This discussion was pivotal in the context of addressing the current military situation in Ukraine, especially in frontline areas where active hostilities continue.
In his statement posted on Facebook, Syrskyi informed Grinkevich about the situation in combat zones and the activities of Russian occupiers along key fronts. He emphasized the successes of Ukrainian forces in destroying enemy troops and reclaiming territories. "Russian losses have exceeded the reinforcements arriving in combat units for several months now," he underscored, providing data on the frontline situation.
Furthermore, Syrskyi detailed the horrific consequences of the war inflicted by Russia on the civilian population of Ukraine. He highlighted the numerous airstrikes on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, which harm not only military targets but also innocent civilians. "To further deter the offensive groups of the Russian Federation, to prevent the killing of peaceful civilians, and to ensure air defense for our cities and towns, Ukraine requires continued international military assistance, stable supplies of weapons, primarily air defense systems and munitions for them," he stated.
The Commander also pointed out that during the conversation, they discussed Ukraine's priority needs within the framework of the PURL program. This initiative involves European countries and Canada financing American military support for Ukraine, which is extremely important under the current conditions. Syrskyi expressed gratitude to Grinkevich for the steadfast support from NATO and the United States, as well as for the assistance provided to Ukraine and its Defense Forces.
It is worth recalling that on March 13, Syrskyi had already stated that Russia's losses exceed the capacity to replenish their military forces, indicating serious problems within the Russian army. This data underscores the importance of international support for Ukraine, which continues to fight for its independence and territorial integrity.
