Ukrainian Consulate Delivers Literary Works to Library in Gdansk

The Ukrainian Consulate in Gdansk has announced the transfer of artistic literature to Ukrainian libraries, marking a significant step in supporting Ukrainian culture abroad.

The Ukrainian Consulate in Gdansk has reported the successful transfer of artistic literature to Ukrainian libraries, an initiative that underscores the commitment to fostering Ukrainian culture beyond national borders. This announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the consulate, highlighting the active efforts of Ukrainian representatives operating outside the country.

Among the books delivered were titles from notable publishers such as 'Nika', 'Vidkryttia', 'Irbis – Comics', 'Smaki', and 'Bookraine Publishing'. These books were generously provided to the consulate, reflecting the close collaboration between Ukrainian publishing houses and foreign cultural institutions.

As part of the literature transfer, the Consul General of Ukraine in Gdansk held a meeting with the library director, Daria Balabay. During their conversation, they discussed various cultural and educational projects that could be implemented for the Ukrainian community, particularly targeting the youth, in the current year. This emphasizes the importance of supporting cultural initiatives that can assist Ukrainians in adapting to life in Poland while preserving their identity.

The Consul General also familiarized herself with the activities of the RC Foundation, which is actively engaged in supporting Ukrainians in Poland. Special attention was given to the Mozaik social hub, which provides legal consultations for Ukrainian citizens. This hub also aids Ukrainian women in integrating into Polish society during the temporary protection period established due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that on March 28, the Ukrainian consulate in Gdansk was elevated to the status of a general consulate. This upgrade signifies the growing importance of the Ukrainian community in Poland and the necessity for a broader range of consular services for Ukrainians living abroad.

The transfer of books and the active engagement of the consulate in Gdansk represent crucial steps in strengthening cultural ties between Ukraine and Poland, as well as in supporting the Ukrainian community that continues to grow in the country. These initiatives not only contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage but also assist Ukrainians in finding their place within a new society.
