General Chereshnya and ORQA Sign Cooperation Memorandum
Ukrainian defense-tech company General Chereshnya has officially partnered with Croatian drone manufacturer ORQA, marking a significant advancement in defense technology development in Ukraine and Europe.
The Ukrainian defense-tech company General Chereshnya and one of Europe's largest manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and equipment, the Croatian company ORQA, have signed a memorandum that officially initiates their collaboration. This partnership marks an important step in the development of defense technologies in Ukraine and Europe.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to begin the establishment of a large-scale production facility for components within Ukraine. The initiative, part of the Build in Ukraine program, includes the creation of an underground factory that will focus on manufacturing various components and peripherals for UAVs. This project aims not only to meet the needs of the Ukrainian market but also to become a significant element in the global supply chain of drones.
In addition, General Chereshnya and ORQA plan to initiate joint serial production in Croatia, where cutting-edge technologies in the drone industry will be developed. This partnership combines ORQA's deep technological expertise with the unique experience of the Ukrainian manufacturer, enabling the creation of competitive products for the global market.
A key objective of the collaboration is the complete localization of component production in Ukraine, which will reduce dependence on foreign supply chains. The companies also aim to enhance the rearmament of NATO countries and strengthen the existing capabilities of Ukraine's Defense Forces, which is particularly relevant in the context of today's security challenges.
Yaroslav Gryshyn, co-founder of General Chereshnya, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating: "I am pleased to announce that today we are starting a new chapter in the history of our company and in the overall Ukrainian defense-tech sector. We are embarking on a great partnership with a company that has decades of experience and leading expertise in the UAV industry. Our goal is shared and clear: together, we will build a new architecture for European and global security. Our unique Ukrainian experience, combined with ORQA's technological expertise, is a perfect match. We are ready to change the game."
Srdjan Kovacevic, co-founder and CEO of ORQA, also commented on the agreement, noting: "This moment signifies an important step forward for both parties and is driven by a shared desire to strengthen the future security system of all NATO member countries. Ukraine's real combat experience, combined with ORQA's advanced technical capabilities, creates a partnership with exceptional potential. By joining forces, we aim not just to participate in shaping the future of security but to actively transform it."
Work on establishing joint production facilities has already commenced, with the first products manufactured under the collaboration between General Chereshnya and ORQA expected to be unveiled soon. This will represent a significant advancement in the development of Ukraine's defense industry and strengthen its position on the international stage.
It is worth noting that General Chereshnya previously established a joint venture in the United States with Wilcox Corporation, reflecting the active international engagement of the Ukrainian manufacturer.
ORQA is one of the largest producers of UAVs and components in Europe, operating in over 50 countries worldwide, including 24 NATO member countries. The company manufactures its products entirely without Chinese components, underscoring its independence and high product quality.
General Chereshnya, in turn, is one of the largest producers of various types of UAVs in Ukraine, making it a significant player in the drone market.
