Estonia has firmly condemned the massive strike executed by Russia against Ukraine, which occurred on the 1500th day of full-scale aggression. Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu took to social media platform X to underline that Moscow's actions are a response of terror to Ukraine's peaceful proposal for an Easter ceasefire.
Reinsalu highlighted that in broad daylight, Russia launched an attack, unleashing approximately 500 drones and missiles that struck residential buildings, leading to numerous casualties among the civilian population. The minister emphasized that this attack is deliberate and inhumane, clearly demonstrating the true nature of the war that Russia is waging.
According to information from Ukrinform, as a result of the Russian attacks that took place today, at least five civilians have been killed. Ukraine's air defense forces managed to neutralize 26 Russian missiles and 515 drones of various types, indicating the active resistance of Ukrainian forces against Moscow's aggression.
This missile bombardment serves as yet another confirmation that Russia continues its aggressive policy, despite calls from the international community for peace and stability in the region. The Estonian Foreign Minister pointed out that such actions by Russia not only undermine peace initiatives but also endanger the lives of thousands of civilians.
It is worth noting that similar acts of aggression by Russia raise concerns not only in Ukraine but also around the world. Many countries, including members of the European Union, have expressed their support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression. Reinsalu called on the international community to take decisive action to punish the aggressor and protect civilians.
Estonia, as a country that actively supports Ukraine, continues to advocate for increased sanctions against Russia and the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. The Foreign Minister emphasized that the international community must unite efforts to counter aggression and ensure stability in the region.
Thus, the Estonian reaction to the recent events indicates that the country remains committed to its principles and is ready to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity. This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of international solidarity in combating aggression and protecting human rights.
