EPIK: New EU Analytical Center Established in Kyiv

On March 31, a ceremonial opening took place in Kyiv for the new analytical center named the European Political Institute (EPIK), marking a significant step in Ukraine's integration with the European Union.

On March 31, a ceremonial opening took place in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, for a new analytical center called the European Political Institute (EPIK). This institute, which received support from Brussels, has become the first European analytical center of its kind to open in Kyiv, according to data from the Stockholm Center for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS).

The opening of EPIK brought together key figures, including Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius, and Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. Participants discussed Ukraine's path to EU membership, considering the challenges posed by the ongoing war, necessary reforms, and contemporary geopolitical dynamics.

The mission of EPIK is to provide policymakers with thorough analysis, strategic ideas, and innovative political solutions that will aid in integrating Ukraine into the EU and support the country in implementing essential reforms. The institute will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and high-quality analysis, uniting Ukrainian and European expertise to address the most pressing issues facing Ukraine and Europe today.

The opening of EPIK is a significant event for Ukraine, as the country, amidst war and a complicated political landscape, needs to find new pathways for integration into European structures. Ihor Zhovkva, during his speech at the opening, emphasized that Ukraine's accession to the EU is not only a matter of the country's future but also a defining test for Europe in ensuring its own security. 'Ukraine is the only country in Europe that has real experience in defending its territory while also implementing reforms. The unification of European and Ukrainian minds is the best way to generate the bold, innovative solutions that this moment demands,' he stated.

This new analytical center will become an important tool for shaping policies related to European security and Ukraine's integration into European structures. EPIK aims not only to support Ukraine in its reforms but also to strengthen the ties between Ukraine and the EU, which is particularly relevant in the context of the current geopolitical situation.

It is important to note that EPIK will not only provide analytical materials but will also become a forum for discussing significant issues facing Ukraine in the context of its Euro-integration. Participants at the opening expressed hope that this institute will become a vital center for generating new ideas and initiatives that will assist Ukraine in its aspiration to become part of the European community.

Thus, EPIK has every chance of becoming an important player in the process of Ukraine's European integration, as well as in shaping a new security policy in Europe, considering the challenges the region faces.
