Export Prices for Rapeseed in Ukraine Rise Following Increases in Oil and Oilseed Raw Material Costs

Ukrainian export prices for rapeseed are experiencing an upward trend, driven by rising oil prices and global oilseed market conditions, according to the information-analytical agency 'APK-Inform.'

In the Ukrainian export market for rapeseed, there has been a notable increase in prices, influenced by the rising quotations in the oil sector as well as the global oilseed market. This information was released by the information-analytical agency 'APK-Inform.'

According to the agency's data, the demand prices for non-GMO rapeseed at Ukrainian ports have risen to a range of $552 to $565 per ton (CPT-port). Additionally, there has been an increase in demand prices for the new crop of rapeseed, which has risen by $5 to $7 per ton. This indicates a market activation and a growing interest in Ukrainian rapeseed from international buyers.

The primary reason for this price dynamic, according to analysts, is the news regarding a potential increase in biodiesel production volumes in the European Union, which is produced from rapeseed oil. This creates additional demand for rapeseed, which, in turn, drives prices upward.

Moreover, the association 'UkrOilProm' noted that the export of rapeseed oil from Ukraine has increased by 2.2 times over the eight months of the 2025/2026 marketing year, while the export of soybean oil has risen by 19.3% in monetary terms. This growth has allowed the industry to ensure the loading of capacities amid a sunflower deficit, which is traditionally the main product for oil production in Ukraine.

Currently, the share of oil and fat products in the overall structure of Ukrainian exports has reached 19.2%. In monetary terms, this amounts to an impressive $7,737 million. These figures indicate that the Ukrainian oil industry continues to develop despite the challenges facing the country's agricultural sector.

In the context of global changes in the energy resources and raw materials market, Ukrainian agrarians have the opportunity to take advantage of favorable conditions for exporting their products. The rise in prices for rapeseed and oilseeds could become an important factor for the further development of Ukraine's agricultural sector, which is one of the key components in ensuring food security for the country and the region.
