Ukrainian Wheat Flour Exports Decrease by 3%

Between July 2025 and June 2026, Ukraine recorded a 3% decrease in wheat flour exports compared to the same period last marketing year, according to the Ukrainian Millers' Association.

During the period from July 2025 to June 2026, Ukraine experienced a 3% decline in wheat flour exports compared to the previous marketing year. The volume of exports fell from 49.8 thousand tons to 48.3 thousand tons, as reported by the Ukrainian Millers' Association.

In total, 35% of Ukrainian wheat flour was exported to European Union countries. In contrast, last season, the share of exports to the EU was 44%. This shift indicates a decreasing reliance of Ukrainian flour on the European market.

The main importers of Ukrainian flour this season include Moldova, which imported 14.9 thousand tons, Palestine with 9.2 thousand tons, the Czech Republic with 7.4 thousand tons, as well as Israel with 4.4 thousand tons and Spain with 4.2 thousand tons. These countries continue to be significant markets for Ukrainian flour producers.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Millers' Association noted an increase in the volume of imported wheat flour. Over the past nine months of the current season, nearly 2.3 thousand tons of flour were purchased from foreign markets, compared to 1.9 thousand tons last season. This may indicate a growing demand for Ukrainian flour from other countries.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that China has opened its market for the import of Ukrainian wheat flour, which could create new opportunities for Ukrainian producers. This step is crucial for expanding the geography of exports and enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian flour in the global market.

It is also important to highlight that the government of Moldova has decided not to extend the licensing regime for grain imports from Ukraine. Starting January 1, 2026, the country will revert to a normal import regime, which could positively impact the volumes of Ukrainian exports to Moldova.

Thus, the situation in the Ukrainian wheat flour market remains dynamic, with certain changes in export volumes and import trends. It is essential to monitor the developments, as they could significantly affect Ukraine's agricultural sector and its position in the international market.
