Designer Position Open at Kyiv Independent: Data Visualization and Communication

The Kyiv Independent, an independent editorial team that serves as the principal English-language news publication in Ukraine, was established in November 2021 by a group of journalists dedicated to editorial independence. Currently, our team comprises over 90 individuals primarily based in Kyiv. As the voice of Ukraine to the world, we provide a vital window into the realities of the country.

We are on the lookout for a designer who can operate at the intersection of editorial storytelling and strategic marketing. Your role will involve transforming complex data into engaging visual materials, as well as creating consistent branded experiences across digital and social platforms. This is a cross-functional role that requires collaboration with both editorial and marketing teams, demanding a dynamic and adaptable approach to design in a fast-paced news environment.

According to estimates, the workload for this position will consist of approximately 60% editorial work and data visualization, alongside 40% involvement in marketing and e-commerce, which may vary depending on the season and priorities. We are offering full-time employment at our Kyiv office, with the possibility of remote work subject to agreement.
