Two Teenagers and an Adult Injured in Evening Strikes in Kharkiv Region – Prosecutor's Office

On October 19, 2023, Russian Armed Forces launched drone strikes in the Kharkiv region, injuring two teenagers and an adult. The attacks have raised significant concerns among local residents.

At approximately 7:40 PM on October 19, 2023, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted drone strikes on the settlement of Korotych in the Kharkiv region. As a result of these attacks, two teenagers sustained injuries.

According to the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the injured individuals are boys aged 17 and 16. They were urgently transported to a medical facility for necessary assistance. Their health status is currently being clarified, but medical personnel are doing everything possible to stabilize their condition.

Additionally, around 8:35 PM, a man was also injured in the village of Berezivka due to drone shelling. Preliminary reports indicate that he sustained injuries and was hospitalized as well. The shelling resulted in significant destruction, damaging not only residential buildings but also outbuildings, causing alarm among local residents.

In light of these events, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated pre-trial investigations into the commission of war crimes, in accordance with part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article stipulates responsibility for violations of the laws and customs of war, which undoubtedly pertains to the actions taken by the Russian military.

These strikes are part of the ongoing aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 2014 and has particularly escalated following the full-scale invasion in February 2022. The Kharkiv region, located in eastern Ukraine, has become one of the most affected areas, where attacks on civilian infrastructure and populations occur daily.

Local residents express their outrage and fear over the constant threat posed by the aggressor. Many people are leaving their homes in search of safer places as the shelling becomes increasingly frequent. Authorities are attempting to ensure the safety of citizens, but the situation remains critical.

It is important to remember that the war in Ukraine continues, and each day brings new challenges for the population. Authorities urge citizens to exercise caution and adhere to safety regulations, especially in areas subjected to shelling. The situation in the Kharkiv region, like in other areas, remains tense, and local residents hope for a swift end to the conflict and a return to peaceful life.
