Two Billion Euros Available for Ukrainian Households, Businesses, and Communities for Energy Independence Projects – EBRD

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced the launch of the Energy Security Support Facility (ESSF) on Monday, providing Ukrainian households, businesses, and communities access to two billion euros for implementing energy-independent solutions.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has officially launched its Energy Security Support Facility (ESSF) program, which aims to bolster energy independence across Ukraine. This initiative, announced on the EBRD's official Facebook page in Ukraine, is the largest of its kind in the country, designed to enhance energy resilience amidst ongoing challenges.

The ESSF program is specifically tailored to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), individuals residing in apartments or private homes, and homeowners' associations (HOAs). Grants will be available for these groups to facilitate the implementation of projects involving the installation of solar panels, generators, batteries, and other solutions that contribute to energy independence. Additionally, loans for these projects will be provided through partner banks associated with the ESSF program, ensuring a more accessible and convenient financing process.

Under the ESSF, a wide array of renewable energy projects will receive support, including solar power plants (SPPs), wind power plants (WPPs), small hydropower plants (HPPs), and biogas installations. The program also encompasses energy storage systems, energy-efficient buildings, and small-scale generation up to 50 MW, which includes gas power plants and installations for personal use or connection to the electrical grid.

EBRD representatives emphasized that dozens of decentralized systems are already being implemented across Ukraine under the ESSF program, demonstrating active support for the country's energy independence. This initiative not only contributes to the improvement of energy infrastructure but also creates new job opportunities and business prospects in the face of contemporary challenges.

For those interested in participating in this significant initiative, detailed information regarding loan conditions, a list of partner banks, and contact details for program consultants is available on the official EBRD website. This resource will provide potential participants with all the necessary information to engage with the program and take advantage of the funding opportunities it offers.
