Drones Attack Oil Pipeline Infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai, Russia

In the early hours of April 9, a drone attack targeted a crucial oil pipeline infrastructure facility in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, resulting in significant consequences, including the death of a man in the village of Sauk-Dere.

In Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation, a drone attack occurred on the night of April 9, targeting the linear production dispatch station 'Krymskaya,' which is a vital component of the oil pipeline infrastructure. This information was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, via his Telegram channel.

Kovalenko emphasized that this facility serves as an important hub within the system of main pipelines responsible for the transportation of oil and petroleum products. The drone attack had severe repercussions; notably, a man was killed in the village of Sauk-Dere by debris from the drone. Additionally, fragments of the destroyed UAV fell into a field in the outskirts of the city of Krymsk and on the territory of one of the enterprises, although Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev did not specify which enterprise was affected.

Governor Kondratyev confirmed the drone attack, noting that the incident led to a fire at the 110 kV Krymskaya NPS substation. This incident raised concerns among local residents who witnessed the event. The Telegram channel Astra, citing testimonies from residents, confirmed that the attack was indeed directed at the 'Krymskaya' linear production dispatch station, which is a critical element of the oil pipeline infrastructure.

The 'Krymskaya' linear production dispatch station plays a key role in pumping oil and petroleum products through several major pipelines, including those leading to the port of Novorossiysk, as well as to the Ilsky and Afipsky oil refineries. This attack underscores the rising tensions in the region and the potential threats to Russia's energy infrastructure.

This incident is not isolated. Previously, as reported by Ukrinform, pilots from the 9th battalion 'Kairós' of the 414th separate brigade 'Ptyahi Madyara' in temporarily occupied Feodosia also struck the 'Morskoy Oil Terminal,' which supplied fuel to Russian troops. These events indicate an intensification of actions by Ukrainian forces against Russian military infrastructure, which could significantly impact logistics and fuel supplies for Russian troops.

In light of these events, it is crucial to monitor the developments in the region and the potential consequences for energy security in both Ukraine and Russia. Following the recent attacks, experts predict a further escalation of the conflict and increased risks for the civilian population caught in the crossfire of military actions.
