DOT Simplifies Procurement Process for Defense Forces – Svyrydenko
The Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) of Ukraine has been granted a new status as a centralized procurement organization, aimed at streamlining the process of acquiring vehicles for the Defense Forces. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this decision, which is expected to facilitate the procurement of pickups and other vehicles funded by decentralized budgets.
The Defense Procurement Agency (DOT), responsible for equipping Ukraine's military with necessary equipment, has received a new designation as a centralized procurement organization. This decision, announced by Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, aims to simplify the procurement process for pickups and other vehicles for the Defense Forces, which are financed from decentralized budgets.
Prime Minister Svyrydenko emphasized that this new status will allow the agency to independently interact with suppliers, set technical requirements, and verify them. This means that military units will be able to obtain the necessary vehicles without facing excessive bureaucratic hurdles. "The government has granted DOT the status of a centralized procurement organization. This means that the agency will work directly with suppliers, determine requirements, and verify them," Svyrydenko highlighted in her Telegram channel.
Thanks to these changes, military personnel will no longer need to navigate complex procurement procedures on their own. They will simply be able to select the required equipment from a catalog, and the system will automatically suggest verified suppliers. "This will speed up procurement and reduce risks. In the future, we plan to expand the list of available goods," Svyrydenko added, stressing that these innovations will contribute to more effective military supply.
It is important to note that in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, providing the army with modern and reliable transportation is critically important. Pickups, motorcycles, ATVs, and buggies, which will now be available for procurement through the Prozorro Market system, are in high demand among various units operating in different conditions. This will allow for a rapid response to the needs of the military and ensure they have everything necessary to carry out combat missions.
The changes in the procurement process for vehicles for the Defense Forces are part of a broader government strategy aimed at optimizing the supply processes for the army in wartime conditions. Ukrainian authorities are actively seeking ways to enhance the efficiency of budget spending and simplify procedures, which will reduce procurement time and improve supply quality. The government hopes that these innovations will not only aid in equipping the army but also strengthen the country's overall defense capabilities.
