Ukrainian Paratroopers Halt Russian Assault Attempt in Sumy Region
The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces have successfully thwarted an attempt by Russian troops to storm positions in the Sumy region, as confirmed by the official Facebook page of the Air Assault Forces and the Ukrinform agency.
The Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces (DShV) reported that Ukrainian paratroopers managed to stop an attempt by Russian troops to launch an assault in the Sumy region. This information was disclosed on the official Facebook page of the DShV and was also confirmed by the Ukrinform agency.
According to available data, a Russian assault group, consisting of five all-terrain vehicles, attempted to take advantage of the foggy and gloomy weather to stealthily and quickly reach Ukrainian positions. However, thanks to operational aerial reconnaissance, the movements of the invaders were detected in time.
Drone operators working on the Ukrainian side immediately responded to the detection of the enemy. They struck the enemy column, after which artillery was also engaged, inflicting significant losses on the adversary. As noted by the DShV, the assault attempt was successfully thwarted.
As a result of the combat engagement, Ukrainian soldiers from the 80th Galician Brigade eliminated seven Russian occupiers and destroyed five all-terrain vehicles that were used for the assault. This success serves as further evidence of the high professionalism and readiness of the Ukrainian military to repel enemy attacks.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that throughout the day, there were 146 combat engagements on the front lines. The highest activity of Russian troops was observed in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole directions, where the enemy attempted to carry out offensive actions.
This situation underscores the constant threat posed by Russian forces, which seek to exploit any opportunity to attack Ukrainian positions. However, thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian military personnel and modern technologies such as drones and aerial reconnaissance, many enemy attempts can be prevented.
In light of the current situation on the front, Ukrainian military forces continue to work on strengthening their positions and preparing for potential new attacks. It is crucial for the civilian population to remain safe and support their defenders during this challenging time.
