US State Department Detains Relatives of Major General Qasem Soleimani Supporting Terrorist Regime in Iran
The United States State Department has announced the detention of relatives of Major General Qasem Soleimani, a key figure in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), for their support of the Iranian terrorist regime. This action took place on April 4, when Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked their green cards, which are permanent residency status for foreigners in the US.
The United States State Department has reported the detention of relatives of Major General Qasem Soleimani, who was a prominent figure in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This significant action occurred on April 4, when Secretary of State Marco Rubio officially annulled their green cards, which grant permanent residency status to foreign nationals in the United States.
The detained individuals include Soleimani's niece, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, and her daughter. Both women are currently in the custody of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The State Department emphasized that Hamideh Soleimani Afshar is a "self-proclaimed supporter of the totalitarian terrorist regime in Iran," raising serious concerns among American authorities.
According to the State Department, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar had been living in the United States while simultaneously promoting the propaganda of the Iranian regime. She has praised attacks on American soldiers and military installations in the Middle East, referred to the United States as the "Great Satan," and expressed support for the IRGC, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the US. Despite her controversial views, she continued to enjoy a lavish lifestyle in Los Angeles, as evidenced by her social media activity, particularly on Instagram, although her account has recently been deleted.
Furthermore, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar's husband has been banned from entering the United States. The State Department also revoked the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of former Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, and her husband. Both individuals have since left the US and will no longer be able to enter the country.
The State Department reiterated that "the Trump administration will not allow the US to become a haven for foreigners who support anti-American terrorist regimes." This stance reflects the firm position of the American government against individuals with ties to terrorist organizations and regimes.
It is important to note that on March 17, Israel reported the elimination of Ali Larijani in an airstrike. Larijani was the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and was considered a key figure in the inner circle of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. His elimination occurred on February 28 as part of a joint operation by the US and Israel against Iran.
As for Qasem Soleimani, he was killed in a US strike in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, during Donald Trump's first presidency. These events underscore the ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, as well as the active measures taken by the American administration to combat terrorism and support anti-American regimes.
