British boxer Derek Chisora, 42, has shared his thoughts on his recent defeat to former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, a match that ended in a split decision favoring Wilder.

The 42-year-old boxer from Great Britain, Derek Chisora, recently reflected on his loss to former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. The fight, which took place recently, concluded with a split decision from the judges, who scored the bout 115−111, 112−115, and 115−113 in favor of Wilder.

In discussing the fight's outcome, Chisora expressed his belief that he could have secured a victory had it not been for an unexpected incident in which he accidentally fell out of the ring. 'Some rounds were very close. I’m disappointed. If I hadn’t fallen out of the ropes, I would have won the fight, but these things happen. I lost the fight by a two-point margin because I went out of the ring. It is what it is,' he stated in an interview quoted by BBC Sport.

Chisora also addressed questions regarding his future in boxing, particularly whether he plans to retire. 'I’m going to go home with my wife and see. I’ll go home, take the kids, and take them to school,' he noted, emphasizing his desire to spend time with his family after the grueling match.

In his remarks, Chisora expressed gratitude to his fans. 'Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I’m very grateful, Great Britain, I truly appreciate you. I was born in Zimbabwe and came here when I was 16. I got into trouble, and then I got into boxing. I didn’t know I would get so into it. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it,' the boxer concluded, reflecting on his journey in the sport.

This bout marked the 50th fight in the professional careers of both boxers. For Derek Chisora, this loss was his 14th, bringing his record to 36 wins, of which 23 were by knockout. Deontay Wilder, on the other hand, achieved his 45th victory (43 of which were by knockout), along with one draw and four losses.
