US Delegation Led by Witkoff and Kushner May Visit Ukraine After Easter - Budanov
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, revealed in a comment to Bloomberg that a US delegation led by Jared Kushner and Kevin Witkoff is expected to arrive in Kyiv after Easter, generating significant interest.
Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, recently shared with Bloomberg that a delegation from the United States, led by Jared Kushner and Kevin Witkoff, is anticipated to arrive in Kyiv following the Easter holiday. This announcement has sparked considerable interest, particularly as Republican Senator Lindsey Graham may also be part of the delegation.
Budanov emphasized that Kushner, Witkoff, and Graham are expected to be key figures during this visit. “Kushner, Witkoff, Graham - these are the ones we are waiting for. Who else will be there – we will see,” he remarked, highlighting the significance of this visit for Ukraine.
The primary goal of the negotiations between the Ukrainian side and US representatives is to discuss the level of security guarantees for Ukraine. These guarantees are to be provided and ensured by the United States in the event that Russia resumes its military attacks on Ukrainian territory. This issue has become particularly pressing in light of the ongoing aggression from Russia, and the Ukrainian side is hopeful for more substantial assurances regarding their security.
Budanov expressed confidence that following the visit of the American delegation, Kyiv may receive more significant security guarantees. “We have long defined what we want. I believe this will be realized in the near future. What happens next is another question. But regarding security guarantees, we have certainly made progress - we have already advanced,” he stated, emphasizing the positive developments in the negotiations.
It is worth noting that on April 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky invited a negotiating delegation from the United States to Kyiv. After concluding their visit to Ukraine, the delegation may proceed to Moscow for further negotiations. This move indicates an intensification of diplomatic efforts from both sides, which could lead to new agreements concerning regional security.
The upcoming US delegation is a crucial component in shaping international support for Ukraine amidst the persistent threat posed by Russia. This visit is expected to be a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States, as well as ensuring stability in the region.
