Power Outages Reported in Five Regions Due to Enemy Attacks - Ukrenergo

Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo has reported new power outages in five regions as a result of ongoing enemy attacks on the country's energy infrastructure.

According to the National Energy Company 'Ukrenergo', new instances of power outages have been recorded in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions due to the continued assaults on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. This information was shared via the company's official account on the social media platform Facebook.

The statement highlights that enemy drone strikes and artillery shelling continue to inflict damage on energy facilities. 'Wherever security conditions permit, emergency recovery works are already being carried out,' Ukrenergo stated.

Amid the cold weather prevailing in Ukraine, electricity consumption as of 7:00 AM on Thursday has exceeded the previous day's level by 4.9%. Overcast conditions in most regions are also adversely affecting the efficiency of residential solar power stations, leading to additional challenges in ensuring electricity supply.

As a result of prior attacks on the energy system that occurred on April 9, power restriction schedules will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM for industrial consumers, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM for all categories of consumers. This means that consumers should be prepared for potential power outages during the specified times.

In light of the unfavorable weather conditions, Ukrenergo urges the public to conserve electricity. 'Please limit the use of electrical appliances during the evening hours from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM as much as possible. Do not turn on multiple high-power devices simultaneously during this period,' the company emphasizes.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine is prepared to reallocate over 195 million euros for urgent winter preparation needs. This indicates that the country is actively working to strengthen its energy security amid ongoing threats.

Given the current situation, it is crucial for citizens to be informed about potential restrictions and to adhere to the recommendations of energy companies. This will help alleviate the load on the energy system and ensure the stability of electricity supply in Ukraine.
