Power Outages Affect Eight Regions Due to Shelling and Severe Weather, Reports Ministry of Energy

As of the morning of April 7, 2023, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has reported that active hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure have left several consumers without electricity across eight regions, compounded by adverse weather conditions.

As of the morning of April 7, 2023, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced that due to ongoing military actions and the shelling of energy infrastructure, a portion of consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions are temporarily without electricity. This situation is exacerbated not only by the conflict but also by unfavorable weather conditions that further complicate the restoration of power supply.

The Ministry of Energy emphasized that energy workers are operating in an intensified mode to restore electricity to all subscribers as quickly as possible. "Energy workers are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity for all subscribers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing around the clock," the ministry highlighted. This underscores that despite the challenging conditions, energy sector employees are making every effort to restore power supply.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Energy reported that due to severe weather, over 170 populated areas in nine regions of Ukraine remain without electricity, including Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Ternopil, Poltava, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Repair crews from regional energy companies are actively working to restore power in these areas to bring light back to people's homes as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Energy also confirmed that on Tuesday, April 7, no electricity supply restrictions are anticipated. This means that consumers can expect stable electricity supply, provided the situation does not worsen. At the same time, the ministry urged consumers to check for any changes in power supply on the official resources of local energy companies to stay informed about current information.

Thus, the situation regarding electricity supply in Ukraine remains tense, but the efforts of energy workers, along with timely information from local energy companies, can help consumers stay informed and be prepared for potential changes in electricity supply.
