Budanov Believes Changes to Territorial Recruitment Centers Will Not Impact Mobilization Process – Media
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, recently addressed potential changes in the functioning of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC), emphasizing that these changes will not affect the mobilization process.
Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, recently commented on possible changes in the operation of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC), emphasizing that these changes will not impact the mobilization process. Speaking at a meeting of the CEO Club Ukraine, Budanov noted that the army requires human capital as the war has been ongoing for 12.5 years, with more than four years being a full-scale invasion.
He highlighted that despite the prolonged conflict, many people are reluctant to go to the front lines, even though they actively follow events through television, the Internet, and social media platforms such as Telegram. Budanov stated, "People watch television and look at the Internet, Telegram, and so on – they do not really want to go fight." This indicates a significant gap between the reality faced by the army and the willingness of citizens to participate in the defense of the country.
The head of the President's Office emphasized that there is a minimum plan that defines the number of individuals who must be mobilized to support the front. "There is no bridge between these two realities. Absolutely none. Therefore, if people do not go, they will have to be mobilized," Budanov remarked. His words reflect the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of providing the army with the required resources.
Additionally, Budanov expressed his views on changes to the name or format of the TRC, stating that one should not expect any "miracle" from such changes, as the essence of the process will remain unchanged. "Changing the name of the TRC will not change anything. Either the front will collapse," he emphasized, pointing to the critical situation at the front and the importance of mobilization.
It is also noteworthy that President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed satisfaction with Budanov's work in negotiations and parliamentary matters. This indicates the president's trust in his professionalism and ability to effectively manage the situation amid the war.
Thus, Budanov's comments underscore the significance of the mobilization process in Ukraine, as well as the realities faced by the army in the context of a prolonged war. According to Budanov, changes in the operational format of the TRC are unlikely to resolve the fundamental issues the country faces during this challenging time.
