During a press conference held in Kyiv on Friday, Tatiana Berezhnaya, the Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine, announced the Ministry of Culture's plans to allocate funds for the cultural support program 'Thousand Spring' in the 2027 state budget.
This initiative, according to Berezhnaya, aims to ensure the continuity of the production of Ukrainian cultural content.
"When we created this program, we set a mission to ensure that this program takes place every year: 'Thousand Spring 2026', 'Thousand Spring 2027', so that we have winners who will identify themselves by the years they applied for this program. And so that 'Thousand Spring 2040' will also exist," Berezhnaya emphasized, highlighting the importance of ongoing support for cultural initiatives.
She also added that during the formation of the budget declaration for 2027, the Ministry of Culture plans to allocate the necessary funds to ensure the continuity of production and creation of Ukrainian cultural products. This reflects the government's serious approach to supporting domestic culture and the arts.
It is worth noting that on April 3, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced the start of accepting applications for the initiative to create Ukrainian cultural products, which was previously known as '1000 Hours of Ukrainian Content' and has now been renamed 'Thousand Spring'. This program is aimed at supporting Ukrainian artists and content producers, which is particularly relevant in the current circumstances.
In the state budget for 2026, the Ministry of Culture has already allocated 4 billion hryvnias for the implementation of this program, demonstrating the growing attention to the development of the cultural sector in Ukraine. Funding such initiatives is an important step in supporting Ukrainian identity and cultural diversity, especially in the face of modern challenges.
Thus, the 'Thousand Spring' program has every chance of becoming an important tool for supporting Ukrainian cultural products in the coming years, as well as for forming new cultural traditions and identities in Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister Berezhnaya emphasized that the goal of the program is not only funding but also creating conditions for talent development and supporting creative initiatives in Ukraine.
