Signum Battalion Joins Drone Forces

The Signum Battalion, previously part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has now become a part of a new military branch — the Drone Forces. This was announced in an official statement from the battalion published on their Facebook page, which was also reported by Ukrinform.

The Signum Battalion has officially transitioned from its previous role within the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade to become a key component of the newly established Drone Forces. This significant change was communicated through a post on the battalion's Facebook page, highlighting their new mission and responsibilities.

In their announcement, the battalion emphasized that they will now operate under the 59th Brigade, known as the 'Steppe Predators.' The statement underscores the critical need for precision and accountability in their operations, stating, 'Wherever there is a need for those who work accurately, rigorously, and without the right to make mistakes.'

Military personnel from the Signum Battalion have pointed out that their unit is continuously evolving, implementing new solutions and mastering modern weapons, technologies, and tactics. They noted that the nature of warfare is rapidly changing, and adapting to new conditions is essential for the successful execution of their missions.

Signum is also recognized for being one of the first units globally to integrate FPV kamikaze drones into combat operations. This innovation has significantly altered the approach to engaging the enemy, enabling more precise and effective strikes.

'We thank the 53rd Brigade for this past year — a year that has already become history and at the same time the foundation of our strength. Together, we have destroyed almost five thousand enemy targets: hundreds of units of equipment, shot down 525 enemy drones, eliminated 1,398 occupiers, destroyed 226 takeoff points for UAVs and shelters for their pilots, incapacitated 206 artillery systems, and dismantled nearly two thousand hideouts,' the military reported, highlighting the battalion's substantial contribution to the fight against the aggressor.

As reported by Ukrinform, pilots from the Signum Battalion, while part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, recently destroyed ATVs, motorcycles, ground robotic complexes, and a grenade launcher belonging to Russian invaders in the Serebryansky forest. These actions reaffirm the high level of training and professionalism of the military personnel, who are utilizing cutting-edge technologies in combat conditions.

It is worth noting that the Signum Battalion continues to actively work on enhancing their skills and implementing innovations in their operations. This commitment allows them to remain at the forefront of the struggle for Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity.
