Headquartered in Singapore, Firmus is actively working on creating a network of energy-efficient data centers designed for use in the artificial intelligence sector. This ambitious project, named Project Southgate, involves the construction of data centers in Australia and Tasmania. To implement the project, the company is utilizing reference solutions developed by Nvidia, underscoring the close collaboration between the two companies.
The new data centers being built under Project Southgate will operate on the Vera Rubin platform. This platform represents the next generation of systems for artificial intelligence computing developed by Nvidia, succeeding the Blackwell architecture. The supply of Vera Rubin is expected to commence in the second half of 2026, opening new opportunities for the advancement of artificial intelligence technologies.
Initially, Firmus focused on cooling technologies used in bitcoin mining. However, over time, the company shifted its focus to the artificial intelligence market. This transition was made possible by the growing interest from investors in projects related to the crypto sphere, allowing Firmus to become one of the leading companies in this field.
Overall, Firmus's success in securing significant investments reflects the increasing demand for infrastructure for artificial intelligence and the importance of investment in this area.
