Austria Rejects US Requests for Military Flights Related to Operations in Iran

Austria, which is not a member of NATO, has made the decision to reject requests from the United States for military flights related to operations concerning Iran. This information was reported by Colonel Michael Bauer, a spokesperson for the Austrian Ministry of Defense, to the AFP news agency. He noted that such requests had been received but were rejected from the outset.

Colonel Bauer emphasized that any request pertaining to a country that is at war is automatically declined. This stance reflects Austria's clear position on maintaining neutrality in military affairs, a principle enshrined in its constitution.

As a non-NATO country, Austria has a long-standing tradition of military neutrality, which is an essential component of its foreign policy.
