Russian Army Launches Two Attacks on Port Infrastructure in Izmail District

On April 8, the Russian Armed Forces conducted two attacks on port infrastructure in the Izmail district of the Odesa region, as reported by Ukraine's Ministry of Communities and Territories Development via its Telegram channel.

On April 8, the Russian Armed Forces launched two separate attacks targeting the port infrastructure in the Izmail district of Odesa region. This information was communicated by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine through its Telegram channel, as reported by Ukrinform.

The statement highlighted that the enemy continues to deliberately strike logistical facilities and port infrastructure. During the night, Russia specifically targeted the Odesa region using strike drones. As a result of these strikes, damage was inflicted on the port infrastructure of one of the enterprises in Izmail.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Communities, the attack resulted in fires breaking out in the warehouse areas. Emergency responders promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished all fire outbreaks. Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties or injuries resulting from these attacks.

The Izmail District State Administration also confirmed that Russia attacked the Izmail district twice today. In their post, they stated: “Today, the enemy attacked the Izmail district for the second time. The attack targeted the port infrastructure.”

This incident follows a previous attack that occurred on the night of April 8, when the enemy launched a drone strike on the territory of Izmail, which also resulted in damage to the port infrastructure.

It is important to recall that on April 6, a Russian drone attack in Odesa resulted in a strike on a high-rise building. This tragedy led to the deaths of three individuals: a 30-year-old woman and her 2.5-year-old daughter, as well as a 53-year-old woman.

These events underscore the severity of the situation in the region, where Russian military forces continue to carry out targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure, causing harm not only to the economy but also to the lives of ordinary citizens. The situation remains tense, and Ukrainian authorities continue to take measures to protect the population and infrastructure.
