Andriy Yermak Announces the Establishment of the Public Organization 'Justice for Ukraine'

On April 8, former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced the creation of a new public organization named 'Justice for Ukraine'. This organization aims to address specific legal issues concerning military personnel, prisoners of war, and their families.

On April 8, Wednesday, Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced the establishment of a new public organization called 'Justice for Ukraine'. According to Yermak, this organization will serve as a continuation of the work of the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine (NALU) and will focus on resolving specific legal issues related to military personnel, prisoners of war, and their families.

In his message on Telegram, Yermak emphasized that the new organization will be aimed at providing assistance in addressing real legal problems faced by military personnel and their families. 'Justice for Ukraine' intends to work on issues of status, payments, rights protection, and compensation for military personnel and their loved ones. 'We are talking about military personnel, prisoners of war, their families, children – and their real legal issues: status, payments, rights protection, compensation. […] We plan to start full-fledged work with the Office and the first cases in May,' he stressed.

Yermak also announced that among the founders of the new public organization are military personnel and lawyers with practical experience in wartime conditions and human rights protection. Among them are Marine officer and defender of Mariupol Artem Dyblenko, lawyer Yulia Stepanenko, and Tetiana Kan. These professionals have extensive experience in providing legal consultations and defending the rights of military personnel, making them vital participants in this new initiative.

Previously, Andriy Yermak, along with other lawyers, visited combat zones to provide consultations to military personnel. This demonstrates his active stance on issues concerning the protection of the rights of military personnel and their families. It is noteworthy that the NALU established a committee to protect victims of armed aggression against Ukraine just a month ago, on March 3, highlighting the relevance and importance of the new organization that Yermak will lead.

It is important to mention that on November 28, 2025, the news agency 'Ukrainska Pravda' reported on searches conducted in the government quarter involving then-Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak. On the same day, Volodymyr Zelensky announced Yermak's resignation in an evening video address. This marked a significant turning point in his career, after which he became the head of the committee in the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine on March 3, 2026.

Yermak headed the Committee on the Protection of Victims of Armed Aggression Against Ukraine, Compensation Mechanisms, and Euro-Integration Legal Support for Recovery. This reflects his intention to continue active work in the field of human rights protection and assistance to military personnel, which is extremely relevant in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Thus, the establishment of the public organization 'Justice for Ukraine' could represent an important step towards improving the legal protection of military personnel and their families, as well as addressing the legal issues they face in the context of the conflict.
