Increased Activity of Russian Forces: General Syrsky Visits Pokrovsk Direction
General Oleksandr Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has reported a significant uptick in the activity of Russian occupation troops in the Pokrovsk direction, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region.
General Oleksandr Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced on his Facebook page that there has been a notable increase in the activity of Russian occupation forces in the Pokrovsk direction. According to him, over the past week, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled a total of 260 enemy attacks, indicating a tense situation in this region.
Syrsky pointed out that he made another working trip to the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces. During his visit, he met with commanders from the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Anna Kyivska,” the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade, as well as assault units, with whom he discussed the operational situation in detail.
During the meeting, General Syrsky emphasized the commanders' proposals for enhancing the effectiveness of combat operations and options for future actions. He also stressed the importance of countering enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly FPV drones, which pose a serious threat to Ukrainian forces.
Furthermore, during his trip, General Syrsky discussed several initiatives with Major Robert Brovda, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which he believes could significantly reduce the number of Russian occupiers on the front lines. He also awarded the best servicemen, recognizing their bravery and professionalism.
“I thank the warriors for their resilience, professionalism, and high results in destroying the enemy,” General Syrsky emphasized, expressing gratitude to Ukrainian defenders for their courage in the fight against the aggressor.
According to information from Ukrinform, on April 8, there were 164 combat engagements recorded between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders at the front. These figures indicate that the situation on the front remains tense, and Ukrainian military personnel continue to actively resist enemy attacks.
