According to reports from the BTU, in the opening round of the competition, she managed to defeat Czech player Anna Dvorackova with a score of 6-4, 6-3. This victory marks an important step for the young athlete as she embarks on her journey in professional tennis.
Sofia Belynska, who is currently ranked as the second-best junior player in Ukraine, gained entry into the main draw of this tournament thanks to her junior ranking (JR). This opportunity was made possible through a special program that allows the strongest junior players in the world to participate in professional tournaments without an adult ranking. Currently, Belynska holds the 55th position in the global junior classification, indicating her high potential and skills in tennis.
In the second round of the tournament in Bonita Springs, the Ukrainian tennis player will face the fifth-seeded player, neutral competitor Daria Yegorova, who is ranked 663rd in the WTA rankings. This upcoming match promises to be challenging, as Yegorova has experience competing at the professional level. However, Belynska has already demonstrated her determination and talent on the courts, making her a formidable opponent.
Sofia Belynska is the younger sister of Vyacheslav Belynskiy, who represents the Ukrainian national team and is the third-ranked player in the country.
