US President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum for Iran to accept a deal to end the war in the Middle East as it faces intense US bombing.
Speaking to PBS on Wednesday, Trump said he remained optimistic about reaching an agreement before an upcoming diplomatic trip, but reiterated the threat of further military action if talks fail, according to AFP.

“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is perhaps a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform,” using the US name for its military campaign against Iran.
“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity,” he wrote.
US officials have said Washington and Tehran are close to a preliminary understanding that could lead to broader negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. However, key issues remain unresolved, including Iran’s refusal to surrender its stockpile of enriched uranium.
Trump’s comments highlighted continued uncertainty over US strategy, as he has alternated between signaling progress in negotiations and warning of escalation.
The tensions come as Iran has launched missiles and drones at US forces and regional allies, while Washington maintains a blockade of Iranian ports and has deployed naval forces to secure shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump has repeatedly asserted he has “all the time in the world” for the high-stakes conflict, but also recently signaled to Congress that the war, launched on Feb. 28, was already over.
