Speaking upon the arrival, Pistorius said Berlin and Kyiv are preparing new joint arms development projects, including advanced drone systems of varying ranges, some capable of striking deep behind enemy lines.
Germany is also seeking to establish additional joint defense ventures with Ukraine and deepen cooperation with Ukrainian weapons manufacturers, Pistorius said.
The German minister added that Berlin wants to draw on Ukraine’s battlefield experience gained during Russia’s full-scale invasion while increasing support for domestic defense innovation through Ukraine’s Brave One military technology platform.
The visit comes as Ukraine continues to push for expanded Western defense cooperation and increased domestic weapons production amid ongoing Russian attacks.
