Norway announced an additional NOK 2.8 billion ($302 million), through NATO’s PURL initiative, bringing Oslo’s total support through the program to more than NOK 12.5 billion, or about $1.35 billion.
The funding is intended to help Ukraine receive critical defense equipment quickly through NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, known as PURL, a mechanism designed to coordinate urgent military deliveries with allied support.

“Together with allies, we help Ukraine get critical defense equipment fast,” Norwegian officials said in announcing the additional contribution.
The latest commitment comes as Ukraine continues to press Western partners for sustained military support amid ongoing Russian attacks and battlefield pressure.
Norway has emerged as one of Ukraine’s strongest European backers since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, providing air defense systems, ammunition, training support, and long-term financial assistance.
The PURL initiative is aimed at speeding up procurement and delivery of military equipment by pooling allied resources and coordinating support through NATO structures.
The additional Norwegian funding underscores continued Nordic support for Kyiv as Ukraine seeks faster delivery of weapons and equipment needed to defend against Russia’s invasion.
